About us

  • Meera Padhiar

With over 10 years of experience in social work, I have focused on supporting young people in preparation for adulthood, adults with learning disabilities and older adults. Throughout my career, I have developed strong partnerships with the NHS and education sectors to ensure holistic, person-centered care focusing on achieving goals and outcomes.

As a qualified Best Interest Assessor, I have an in-depth understanding of mental capacity and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. I am also a qualified Practice Educator, and enjoy empowering others through training and support.

My personal experience of living with someone as they age and their condition progresses has enabled me to truly understand the challenges faced by older adults and the impact this has on families, and I am committed to helping others navigate the process. What motivates me is working with individuals and their support networks to ensure they are thriving and living life to the full.

  • Mikaela Wall

With 16 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist (OT), I have developed expertise across a diverse range of settings; including rehabilitation and acute injuries, neurological rehab, complex & traumatic physical injuries and long term condition management.

Having worked within both the NHS and Local Authority, I have an enhanced knowledge of legislation, including the Care Act & Mental Capacity Act.

As an OT I specialise in manual and handling ensuring you can safely move around in and outside of your home. I also have a breadth of experience with home adaptations, from small aids such as rails to larger scale modifications such as wet rooms or ramping up to your door.

I am passionate about technology enabled care and how this can empower individuals to have a greater level of independence and security in their lives whilst providing reassurance for loved ones.

We know it can be overwhelming to navigate between the local authority and the NHS, with changes in staff, lengthy waiting lists and delays in setting up care. We are here to provide you with an independent service to ensure you get the care you need, when you need it.

We started The Social Care Practice because we recognise the benefit of having both Occupational Therapy and Social Work under the same roof. This means we are able to work closely with each other to tap into our respective disciplines to ensure you always get the most comprehensive and holistic advice.

What makes us different is our unique ability to bridge the gap between health and social care services. We provide holistic assessments that focus on improving both the physical and social aspects of life. Combining skills in both social care and occupational therapy, we are passionate about enhancing the well-being and independence of individuals across various age groups.
